Zhejiang Provincial Quality Supervision Sample Survey of Lighter Products and Reinforced Wood Flooring Products in the Province

More than 20 % of lighters are not qualified and may cause no small harm

Recently, the Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision carried out a random inspection of lighter products and reinforced wood flooring products in the province. It was found that 22.6 % of lighters and 5.3 % of reinforced wood floors were unqualified.

The quality supervision department sampled 31 batches of lighter products from 31 companies in Ningbo, Wenzhou and other two regions, and failed to meet 7 batches. The batch failure rate was 22.6 %. The unqualified items mainly focus on "flame height", "anti-sputtering, explosion or jumping", "flame extinguishing", "anti-continuous combustion" and other items.

The above four unqualified, may cause no small harm.

The high height of the flame, the presence of anti-sputtering, bursting or jumping, consumers are prone to damage to the face or hair during use, and serious facial burn events can occur.

The flame of the lighter product should be extinguished immediately after consciously closing the gas source. If it can not be extinguished or delayed, it will cause accidental injury or fire accident.

The "anti-continuous combustion" project was not qualified, and the high continuous combustion temperature caused the hood temperature to be too high, causing the plastic parts connected to the hood to melt, so that the lighter could no longer be used intermittently.

In addition, the quality supervision department sampled 38 batches of reinforced wood floor products from 38 companies in Huzhou, Jiaxing, Jinhua and other three regions, and failed to meet 2 batches. The batch failure rate was 5.3 %. Product unqualified items mainly focus on specifications size and deviation, static strength and other items.

The size and deviation of unqualified products are often wide and narrow, the length of which will appear in the installation of large splicing gaps or warping and other paving quality problems. In addition, when the floor is sold, it is calculated according to the area(Square). There are also cases where individual manufacturers deliberately mark the size of the specifications larger than the actual size, and profit from it.

The static strength reflects the load when the product is subjected to bending damage. Because the reinforcement wood flooring mostly adopts suspension paving method, the low index of static strength will not have a negative impact on the use. However, if the keel is used for paving, multiple layers of plywood must be laid, otherwise it is easy to break.
